Bonna Indonesia Strengthen Indonesia’s Infrastructure by providing 3.6 kilometers of RCCP pipes and special fittings for SPAM Regional Jatiluhur I Downstream Project, A National Strategic Initiative in Indonesia

After being awarded the design and supply of Bonna Pipes and special fittings for the Upstream system in 2022, PT Bonna Indonesia was also entrusted with the Downstream system in 2023 to design and supply the Bonna jacking pipes with internal diameters of ND1200 mm, ND1500 mm, and ND1800 mm spanning approximately 3.6 km installed by microtunneling method for this project along with Bonna pipes and special fittings.

The unique construction of Bonna Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipes for jacking ensures dual functionality. More than just a jacking pipe, which is able to withstand the axial loads typically encountered during jacking applications, its innovative design also allows it to function effectively as a pressure pipe, able to withstand internal pressure without failing or deforming, therefore eliminating the need for additional materials or modifications.

First-ever Cross-river Jacking Works in Indonesia with Bonna RCCP-J ND1800

Our scope of supply involved cross-river jacking works using Bonna Reinforced Concrete Cylinder Pipes for Jacking ND1800 mm installed by microtunneling technique. The jacking installation, spanning about 105 meters, was completed at a depth of 18 meters beneath the riverbed. Thanks to the strength, watertightness, and reliability of the Bonna Pipes for Jacking, the installation was successfully completed in less than a month without any issues.

The next step involved welding and testing using the efficient and simplified Bonna S-L Jointing System. This was followed by applying mortar joint protection to enhance corrosion resistance and ensure a smooth finish for excellent hydraulic flow characteristics, minimizing head loss. And finally, the process concluded with the success of the hydrotest.

Despite the complexity and time constraints, PT Bonna Indonesia seamlessly coordinated with four different contractors to ensure timely production.

This project has been commissioned on late 2024 and will deliver a staggering 4,750 liters per second of clean drinking water. This vital resource is expected to be distributed to 380,000 house connections, benefiting approximately 1.9 million people in Jakarta and West Java, including Bekasi Kota, Bekasi Regency, and Karawang Regency.
